Single Review - “Dizzy” by Baddie Brooks

“Dizzy” by Baddie Brooks is a head-knocking reminder that she is, without question, one of the best ears in music, laced with a powerhouse voice and knack for catchy hooks. This latest single finds the pageant-winning songstress crafting a track that’s both party-ready and tagged with a message we may have all dealt with at one time or another.

“Why do I find myself trying to move on from you. You got my hopes up, I should have known that it was just too good to be true,” croons Baddie, whose central message captures that of a failed situationship, where blasé lovers exit your door before you notice their crimson flags. Baddie sings a perhaps sharply honest story about confronting the truth and letting it go, blasting with feisty ambition. She measures through her lack a protective layer of cynicism, finds herself wondering if this is the cycle of the all-too-often-piss-filled dating world.

Production-wise, “Dizzy” continues its stretch of remarkable production from the Baddie, measured by a simple guitar riff, the track’s layers grow into a Saturday night special, equipped with thumping drums, harmonic layered vocals, and a pace that makes the dancefloor hypnotically unavoidable, a drinking “This-my-jam”-esque anthem.
