Single Review - “I Just Might” by Bruno Mars

I have long considered Bruno Mars to be the best male singer. He’s simply the perfect package of performance, songwriting, charisma, and patience. It’s simply not often that we receive an album from the multi-talented performer. But once he makes his presence known, it becomes a matter of time before he dominates the airwaves. This is much the case with his latest single, “I Just Might,” a funky-pop song showing that Bruno is physically incapable of making anything but a five-star hit.

Perhaps a stolen vibe from other popular songs etched in the fabric of history's greatest songs, but who cares? When it comes to songs that are fun, catchy, and have music’s all-time favorite lyric of “doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-do-doo-doo,” stolen valor no longer applies. “I Just Might” is everything a summertime anthem should embrace: carefree love, upbeat tempos, and, quite frankly, great singing.

Overall, it's a single that, while you could argue has lyrics that mean close to nothing, it accomplishes the best thing one could embrace for a lead single: regretless fun.
